On the night before the Oscars, a free screening and discussion in New York of THE EDGE OF DEMOCRACY by Petra Costa
We invite you to a free screening (5-7pm) followed by a discussion (7-8pm) between journalists and activists, of the Oscar-nominated documentary The Edge of Democracy, by Petra Costa.
Join us for a fruitful discussion of the elements of the movie as well as about what has happened in Brazil since the documentary has been finalized, to mark the eve of the 92nd Film Academy Awards. We will also discuss the timeline of the new wave of toppling of democracies in the new hybrid war against Latin America.

Michael Brooks is the host of the Michael Brooks Show, with over 100k subscribers on YouTube and well over 3000 patrons. He co-hosts the Majority Report, writes regularly for outlets including Jacobin and is the author of the forthcoming: Against the Web: the cosmopolitan socialist case against the new right, to be published by Zero Books.
Tadii Ángeles’ work was born from the need to inform migrant communities of the reality that we face as people, reporting on what the controlled media never reports.
Lucy Pagoada-Quesada, is a teacher, human rights defender, political and social activist. She is also the official coordinator of The LIBRE Party which is the political Arm of the Honduran Resistance, coordinated in Honduras by President Manuel Zelaya. Lucy Pagaoda-Quesada is a host of the Program "Voices of Resistance" at WBAI. 99.5. FM, NY.
